2022 Rivian R1T
Rivian is an American automaker that was founded in 2009. They created the R1T, which is one of the most sought-after electric trucks. The R1T is a futuristic quad-motor all-electric truck that’s designed for adventure.
It has 14 inches of ground clearance, which allows you to drive in many different conditions. You can also drive it in 3-feet of water, rock crawl at 100% grade, and tow up to 11,000 pounds.
Rivian started with the Launch Edition, and reservations are full. They’ll offer two packages, Explore and Adventure. Prices start at $67,500 and $73,000, respectively.
The Adventure Package gets a premium interior, sound, design upgrades, and added functionality.
Both packages will have 300 or more miles of range. To get more range, you can upgrade the battery to the Max pack for $10,000. It offers more than 400 miles of range.
It’s also going to be the first to get an all-electric truck into the hands of consumers. The Launch Edition is expected to start being delivered in July 2021 and be completed in spring 2022. If you ordered the Explore or Adventure package, deliveries will begin in January 2022.
2023 Tesla Cybertruck
Tesla changed the auto industry with its luxury sedan, the Model S. Now, Tesla is taking on the pickup truck industry with the Cybertruck, which looks out of this world.
The Cybertruck boasts its toughness and durability. It combines utility and performance.
It’s built with a steel exterior shell and armor glass. Tesla calls it the exoskeleton. It helps eliminate dents, damage, and corrosion.
The Cybertruck can tow over 14,000 pounds and can hold up to 3,500 pounds. It also has adaptive air suspension, which allows you to raise and lower the truck up to 4 inches. The vault-like trunk is 6.5 feet long and offers 100 cubic feet of lockable storage.
Tesla’s offering three versions of the Cybertruck. The Singe Motor RWD is the entry-level option. It has a range of 250 miles and starts at $39,900. You can also choose between the Dual Motor AWD, which starts at $49,900 and has 300 miles of range, or the Tri-Motor AWD, which starts at $69,900 and has more than 500 miles of range.
2022 Ford F-150 Lightning
Within a week of announcing the F-150 Lightning, Ford received more than 70,000 reservations. People are excited about the electrified version of America’s best-selling pickup truck.
What’s great about the Ford F-150 Lightning is that it looks just like an F-150. Yes, it has an electric powertrain, a solid light bar, a large center display, and technology enhancements, but it shares many of the same features as a gas-powered F-150.
At launch, only one body style will be available. It’ll have a SuperCrew cab with four doors and the bed will be 5.5 feet long.
The F-150 Lightning comes with a standard-range battery, which gives you 230 miles. However, you can upgrade to the extended-range battery for a range of 300 miles.
It’ll be able to hold 2,000 pounds and tow up to 10,000 pounds. The extended-range battery offers 563 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque.
Prices start at $39,974 for the entry model. The mid-series XLT starts at $52,974. The price goes up to about $90,474 based on the options that you select.
Ford is currently accepting reservations, and you’ll be able to place your order in fall 2021. Ford will begin shipping out the F-150 Lightning in spring 2022.
2022 Lordstown Endurance
The Endurance is the first vehicle to be built by Lordstown Motors, an Ohio-based automaker. It’s an all-electric pickup truck that’s targeting the commercial fleet market.
Its base price is $52,500, which offers more than 250 miles of range, a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds, 600 peak horsepower, and a 109 kWh battery.
Compared to other trucks, the Endurance is designed to improve durability and reduce maintenance costs.
It’s built with an electric motor that’s mounted on each of the wheels. The mounted motors improve your control of the truck in different situations.
You can reserve the Endurance for a $100 deposit. However, Lordstown Motors hasn’t released much information regarding options, customizations, and trim levels.
According to Lordstown Motors, production is planned to begin in late September 2021, and deliveries will start in early 2022.

2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup
GMC is bringing back the Hummer. This time, it’ll be all-electric and is the world’s first electric super truck. It’s powerful, has removable roof panels, comes with a crab walk option, and comes standard with AWD.
The Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1, which will be available in fall 2021 with a starting price of $112,595, is already fully reserved.
Aside from Edition 1, GMC is offering three trim levels. Hummer EV 2 is the entry-level version and has a starting price of $79,995. It’ll have 2 electric motors and have a range of 250.
2X is the next tier. It starts at $89,995, has 2 electric motors, and a range of 300 miles. Both the 2 and 2X will produce up to 625 horsepower and 7,400 pound-feet of torque,
The top trim level is 3X. It’ll have 3 electric motors, more than 300 miles of range, push 830 horsepower, and 11,500 pound-feet of torque.
Starting late 2021 and through the next few years, GMC will produce and deliver the different trim levels. Edition 1 will be available in fall 2021, 3X will be available in fall 2022, 2X will be available in spring 2023, and 2 will be available in spring 2024.
2022 Atlis XT
The Atlis XT Pickup Truck has up to 500 miles of range with the large battery pack option. It’s considered a full-size truck and is assembled in America.
The XT is built with excellent features and is capable of competing with the Rivian R1T, Tesla Cybertruck, and Ford F-150 Lightning.
Atlis built the XT with all-wheel drive, traction motors, and independent suspension at each wheel. Its top speed is 120 mph, and it can reach 60 mph in 5 seconds.
The price starts at $45,000, which is very competitive for a truck with these capabilities. There are also many options to choose from.
The minimum range is 300 miles and it goes up to 500 miles. It also has a towing capacity of between 6,000 and 17,000 pounds.
The fifth wheel and gooseneck towing capability are 20,000 to 35,000 pounds. Also, it has a payload capacity that ranges from 1,000 to 5,000 pounds.
For ground clearance, you can choose between 12 and 15 inches. You can take the XT anywhere, as it can handle extreme conditions.
The Arizona-based automaker is planning to start production in late 2021 or early 2022. Atlis is raising $25 million to take it from design to production. So, it’ll depend on their progress.
2022 Hercules Alpha
The Hercules Alpha is an all-electric luxury truck that’ll become available between the end of 2022 to the beginning of 2023. It has more of a classic truck shape rather than a futuristic one.
Hercules Electric Vehicles CEO James Breyer launched the company in 2018 intending to bring a clean-energy and ultra-customizable pickup to the market.
The Hercules Alpha will have up to 1,000 horsepower, 800 pound-feet of torque, multiple electric motors, and more than 300 miles of range.
Its hood, body panels, and wheels will be built with carbon-composite materials. The goal is to reduce weight while increasing strength, safety, and performance.
One of the best features of the Hercules Alpha is the solar truck bed cover, which will generate 1.2kW and an extra 19 miles of range. It’ll be enough to cover daily commutes and short trips without having to plug it in for charging.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV
The electrified Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck is aiming to be a high-volume truck with a focus on affordability.
It’s expected to have more than 400 miles of range and will be built at General Motors’ ZERO assembly plant in Michigan with the GMC Hummer EV.
It’ll likely have different configurations and battery capacities. Chevrolet did mention that they’ll offer a fleet-oriented and a retail consumer version.
Aside from announcing the electrified version of the Silverado, Chevrolet hasn’t shared details regarding trim levels, pricing, or photos.
2023 Canoo Pickup
Canoo’s pickup truck has a unique bubbly shape and is built to have the payload capacity of a full-size truck at 1,800 pounds. It’s a compact truck with a pull-out bed extension extending from 6 feet to 8 feet long.
The front of the truck has a worktable that can be folded down, and it offers cargo space.
On the side of the truck, you can flip down expandable tables. There’s also storage and a side step to make it easy to get on the truck bed.
Storage is a big part of the Canoo pickup. However, it’ll also perform well. Canoo will offer dual or rear electric motor configurations.
It can produce up to 600 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. Currently, the pickup will have a range of 200 or more miles.
Canoo is taking pre-orders for the production version and is planning to deliver the trucks in 2023.
2023 Alpha Wolf
Alpha Motor Corporation is an EV company based in Irvine, California. It’s launching two trucks, the Wolf and Wolf Plus. They have features that resemble the Subaru BRAT.
The Wolf truck will offer you the choice between dual-motor AWD or single motor FWD. It’ll have a range of 250 to 265 miles, a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds, and a 0 to 60 mph time of 6.2 seconds.
It’ll be a great smaller truck, as the length will be 188 inches long, and the truck bed will be 65 inches long. The Wolf will be able to seat 2 people.
On the other hand, Alpha Motor Corporation will also offer Wolf Plus. It’s slightly bigger and more powerful.
The Wolf Plus will be 203 inches long with the same 65-inch truck bed. Like the Wolf, you can choose between dual-motor AWD or single motor FWD.
It’ll have the same range. However, the 0 to 60 time is 5.9 seconds, and it can tow up to 6,724 pounds.
Both of the trucks are expected to be delivered to consumers in 2023. Until then, Alpha Motor Corporation will continue to share more details, photos and make updates.
